Video openings: What to do and not to do
I’ll admit my experience in videography is minimal to say the least, and I’m not a master of crafting powerful opening shots … mostly because I don’t really know what makes a powerful opening shot.
Then Colin Mulvany comes to the rescue.
I always like a quick bulleted list of what to do and avoid doing to hook your viewers with in the first few seconds.
Sure, I think every video I’ve ever made — which I could count on one hand probably — has broken at least one of his rules, but we’ll call this a learning moment.
