I'm sorry, i'm new at this. I just finished my resume jn Indesign and have successfully saved it as a PDF. After this step I don't know what to do.

Note:
I'm building my website so I dont have a URL yet. Do i need it in order to test if the resume downloads?

Have you successfully saved your resume as a PDF?
If so, then you'll need to log into your Wordpress admin.

Then go to your new page for your resume in the admin. (If you haven't already started your resume page, just click Add New under Pages on the left sidebar.)

Once you get there you'll see the field for the title of the page and then a big area for the body text of it. Just between those two is an area that says "Upload/Insert" and then it has a little icon of a square within a square. Click that icon.

It'll ask you to pick which file you want to upload, so pick that PDF you saved and click Upload.

When that fully uploads, you'll see a field that says "Link URL" (see second to last photo in the post above.) That's the link to your resume.

Copy it and close the little popup that you've been working in.

That takes you back to the main page that you're working in. Now you just need to type "View my resume" or something like that and link those works to the URL you just copied.

I'm lost after the 3rd step. How did you go from saving the document in Word to using Word Press?
