Her summers have included copy editing internships at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, and she spent a year and a half as a copy editing and design intern at the Lincoln Journal Star. When not at internships, Emily worked her way up at the Daily Nebraskan, UNL’s independent student newspaper; she just wrapped up a yearlong stint as Web director.

Emily also has served as online manager for Redwire, a publication of UNL’s journalism college, and hosted newscasts for KRNU, the campus radio station.

An avid Twitter user, Emily is also active in the American Copy Editors Society, serving as president of UNL’s chapter.

This spring, UWIRE named her among the top 100 student journalists in the nation.
